Sunnya asked:
Do you think Twilight Saga Books and movie is good influence for children, teenagers, and young adult? I think Twilight Saga books and movie is really good but I don’t think those children should read them until they are 8th grade and up. I don’t care about what you will say even if you love or hates the twilight saga books and movie. If they do make breaking dawn movie, they should make it as adult movie. Please try to remember that your opinion are open and you can say anything.

Read them They’re worth the time
twilight saga
I am 11 and read the WHOLE SERIES! (i didn’t skip anything, not even in breaking dawn) Yea, in breaking dawn its not the most appropriate book, but it wasn’t high descriptor because stephenie meyer knows younger people read her books. they never really mention “it” at all. The movie was really bad (if u read the books). the movie of breaking dawn would probably cut off as mush of “those” scenes as possible.i say it has really no TERRIBLE infuense on people my age at all.

i personally think its kinda degrading for women because bella:
1) has no personality
her dad is a moron
2) relies totally on edward
3) can’t seem to function without him
4) almost dies about a million times, and edward saves her every time
5) has a baby at the age of 18 -.-’
6) can’t ever seem to stick up for herself
7) being clumsy is NOT a flaw if edward catches her every time
9) managed to notice what the entire town didn’t: that a bunch of vampires live up the road -.-’
10) is supposedly plain, but has half the population of the high school lusting after her
11) is (rather creepily) watched by edward every night while she sleeps. which is disturbing.
12) MEYER DIDN’T EVEN DESCRIBE THE *** SCENE!!!! ITS NOT EVEN A REAL VAMPIRE NOVEL WITHOUT *** SCENES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it shows a rather bad example to teenagers who will now be expecting their boyfriends to sparkle -.-’

I think its a good influence. I mean, a main theme is saying wait to have *** until marriage. How is that bad? The main characters are also very responsible and smart. Breaking Dawn, like Twilight, should be rated PG-13. They shouldn’t show the *** scenes, just like the book kind of skipped over it. I loved the series, except for Breaking Dawn, but did not enjoy the movie.

I personally **** ‘em.
Vampires just aren’t supposed to be sparkly vegetarians. =/
As far as the influence of the books…?
Well, I have heard people say that they hated reading before they started Twilight. So I guess in a sense it’s good, since it’s gotten more people to start reading and has opened their minds to other books.
But at the same time, there are girls out there dumping their boyfriends for ‘not being more like Edward’ (seriously, someone said that once).

I think that the Twilight books are a horrible influence on anyone! Bella is the worst role model I have ever had the misfortune to read about. She is whiny, bratty, always complains, and is just an all around annoying person!
The only good thing I ever saw in Bella was that she was willing to go save her mom from James, but then again, any girl that truly loved their mother would have done the same thing!
She treats her friends like crap. She only hangs out with Angela if she needs something from her. She called Mike a loyal dog in her head(No, that is not a compliment). And she put Jessica’s life in danger by going near those guys in New Moon.
Edward thinks it’s perfectly fine to stalk people. He sees nothing wrong with making sure that Bella never makes her own choices. He thinks it’s perfectly fine to force your partner to never ever have a life out side of yourself. And he sparkles.

I think 8th grade is a little drastic. I started the books in I believe seventh grade and it in no way influenced me to do anything in the book or think the way Bella does. Keep in mind that the very worst thing that happens in this book is SPOILER SPOILER Bella and Edward have sex, but it goes into almost no detail. I was a big girl, I had a mind of my own. I would say about sixth-seventh grade would be appropriate for up tight moms, but for me, I would have been ready for this book in fourth grade, and I’m sure many other children would as well with the way the world is today. If the child is old enough to know right from wrong, they should be allowed to read the book. The story itself I don’t think is exactly a good influence or a bad one, but it gets a lot of kids reading so thats a big thumbs up there. I loved the book, but the unrealistic way too perfect ending really…destroyed the whole saga for me. I wish Stephenie Meyer would have done SOMETHING interesting and tragic in Breaking Dawn, but no. Actually, it was almost as if I was reading a soap opera.

I think that the movies and book are very tasteful. breaking dawn should be PG.13. And any author that has thick books like that and have 12 years olds reading it is a good author in my opinion

I read the series in year 8 and nothing came as a shock to me……it isn’t as though we haven’t seen this stuff in movie before.
If anything, it set very high expectations for boys on me. It’s not like Bella does anything wrong or bad and Edward and her don’t “get together’ until after they’re married. So it isn’t really too bad an influence.
If you think that it will take another 3 year at least before Breaking Dawn is a movie…then most of the complety and uttery obsessed generation will be adults or nearly adults, so maybe they should make it an adults movie. But they can’t make the other three teenager movies and then make the last one adults….
I hope my opinion helps
